Max Ellorin is an immigrant from the Philippines residing in and working for Southeastern San Diego. As a youth, he grew an affinity to Southeastern San Diego’s inherent diversity but also noticed the disparate socio-economic differences compared to other regions of San Diego County. 

Through AmeriCorps, Max worked for two community-based organizations. He served as an at-risk youth mentor for the Tariq Khamisa Foundation and assisted youth emancipating from foster care at Just in Time for Foster Youth. He also served as a community organizer for Mid-City CAN where he ran the campaign for Youth Opportunity Passes, a program that advocated for no-cost student transit passes. 

Max has worked for two elected officials. He interned for then Assemblymember Shirley Weber supporting the constituents of the 79th state assembly district and also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for then Councilmember Monica Montgomery Steppe where he advised the Councilmember in the areas of municipal budgeting, economic development, and infrastructure. 

With a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in public administration, both from San Diego State University, he plans on leveraging his education and work experience to effectuate transformative change.
