Maura is a Texas native with a wide range of experience in the world of broadcast journalism. Prior to her role as Communications Coordinator for County District 4, she worked with Mississippi Public Broadcasting as a news reporter. She has also worked as a morning show host for a local network in the city of Jackson called “Metro Morning Live”, as well as the role of Multimedia Journalist for Jackson State University, and NPR. She also has 17 years of small business ownership under her belt.

As a business owner, Maura is passionate about sharing information that empowers small businesses to grow and thrive in San Diego. She is dedicated to serving and educating the community through impactful writing, using her skills to be a reliable source of valuable information and support for the community.

Maura received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Mississippi Valley State University.
