Policy Advisor
Lyle is a healthcare professional turned public servant with deep commitments to advancing social justice, health promotion, and environmental sustainability. Originally from Michigan, Lyle has lived in various parts of the country before landing in San Diego in 2018, which he now proudly calls home. He has been a staunch advocate for progressive social change for many years taking leadership roles in San Diego based organizations working to tackle housing insecurity and food insecurity.
Lyle received his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of Miami and his bachelor’s degree in Adolescent/Young Adult Education from the University of Toledo. He also has received advanced education and training in Population Health Management and Health Promotion with particular focus on the prevention of non-communicable disease and chronic musculoskeletal pain at the population level.
Lyle’s Policy interests include optimizing healthcare access and quality, health equity, homelessness solutions, affordable housing, healthy food accessibility, physical activity promotion through the built environment, advancing independence for seniors and people with disabilities, and always with a focus on working upstream to identify and address small issues before they become unmanageable systemic problems. In all his endeavors, Lyle remains deeply committed to creating a healthier, more equitable, and sustainable future for all.
