Jenny Yoo Williams serves as the Director of Policy to San Diego County Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe. She previously served as a Policy Advisor to then San Diego City Councilmember Montgomery Steppe, and as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the San Diego City Council.
Jenny is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University and has a law degree and Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown Law. She served as a law clerk and counsel to two Chief Judges of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. She has also worked at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm, where she represented companies in business litigation.
Jenny is the proud founder of the Korean American Bar Association of San Diego, and a founding member of the Korean American Coalition of San Diego. She has also served as Regional Governor of San Diego and Orange County for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and Treasurer for the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD). She currently serves on PALSD’s Advisory Committee. During law school, Jenny worked as a legal intern for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Cairo, Egypt. She has also provided pro bono representation in Immigration Court to asylum seekers and detained unaccompanied children seeking reunification with their families.
