Randall Khalil serves as legal advisor to San Diego County Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe.  He received his bachelor's degree in public policy from Princeton University, and his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.  In law school, Randall was a student attorney in the Michigan Innocence Clinic, through which he represented wrongly convicted indigent prisoners in post-conviction proceedings.  He has authored legal scholarship on criminal procedure and indigenous rights.  He was a judicial law clerk to a federal district judge in the Southern District of California, and previously worked as a litigation associate at a large law firm.    

 

 

Outside of work, Randall maintains an active pro bono litigation practice.  He also enjoys boxing, vegetable gardening, hiking, backpacking, and live music.
