Donte Wyatt was born in the Midwest but lived in multiple states and even overseas growing up due to his father’s military service. Mr. Wyatt’s family settled in Los Angeles California after his father was medically retired from the military. Donte Wyatt completed his secondary education in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego, CA to pursue higher education. Donte obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Diego State University where he majored in both Political Science and Africana Studies. Mr. Wyatt was the Outstanding Graduate for the Africana Studies Department, and he obtained his degree in Political Science with Distinction.
Mr. Wyatt next continued his education at California Western School of law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. While in law school he was a recipient of the Dean Merit Scholarship, received the Pro Bono Honor Society Award.
Upon Graduating from Law School Mr. Wyatt became a Graduate Law Clerk with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and ultimately a Deputy District Attorney. Donte Wyatt spent over 10 years as a Deputy District Attorney and he personally handled hundreds of cases.
After over a decade prosecuting crimes Mr. Wyatt left the District Attorney’s Office and opened the Law Offices of Donte T. Wyatt. Mr. Wyatt spent over 12 years in private practice. Mr. Wyatt has also been an active member of multiple community-based organizations including NAACP, the California Association of Black Lawyers, and the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association. Mr. Wyatt is also a graduate of the African American Board Leadership Institute; he completed the program in 2020.
